Who are we?

Welcome.

So, this is a whole new attempt for us to reach more people and continue spreading our message. Who are "we" exactly? We're just some regular folk that work for a nonprofit organization called Community Financial Resource Center (CFRC) out of Los Angeles, California. We're popular in LAUSD for providing the Los Angeles Teachers Mortgage Assistance Program (LATMAP). As a financial resource for first-time homebuyers, small businesses and the community for over 15 years we have seen what focused community & economic development can do for a neighborhood.

Now, following the heels of a major credit and real estate market meltdown, we feel its more important than ever to promote ourselves as a resource for all first-time homebuyers and homeowners affected.

Our mission is simple. Educate. Educate. Educate.

We hope with this blog, to keep our communities connected with what's going on in the real estate market for first-time homebuyers.

What do we do?

Well, there's lots of things we do. As far as homeownership we know all about government-backed subsidy programs (CalHFA, LAHD, etc.) and what it takes to help low and moderate income households finance their home. We even have an exclusive relationship with LAUSD to provide all district employees to provide a homeownership program. But for the sake of being brief, we'll just list what we do on the homeowernship side:

* 8-hour/12-hour Homeownership Education Workshops

* Pre-Qualification Interviews

* Licensed Mortgage Broker (Savvy, Sound and Safe Home Loan Program)

* Credit & Debt Management Counseling

* Foreclosure/Default Prevention Counseling
